Ruth Behar, PhD: Lapid-Shapiro Scholar-in-Residence Weekend

Join us for a wonderful weekend with Dr. Ruth Behar, who will join us as our Lapid-Shapiro lecturer. Dr. Behar was born in Havana, Cuba and grew up in New York. She has worked as an ethnographer in Spain, Mexico, and Cuba, and is known for her humanistic approach to understanding identity, immigration, and the search for home in our global era. As we explore our ever-expanding Jewish community and challenge ourselves to expand our hearts and minds about who our Jewish community truly is, together we become enriched.
