Berkeley Moshav is building a modern Jewish village where daily life is shaped by connection, community, and the rhythms of Jewish tradition. Located in the Bay Area, it’s a unique cohousing community where each family has their own private condo within a 36-unit building—complete with kitchen, living space, and privacy. Just outside each door are shared spaces designed to bring people together: a big yard, a garden, a communal kitchen and dining room, and spaces for music, crafts, and conversation. Berkeley Moshav weaves Jewish life into everyday moments—not just holidays or synagogue. Children grow up with friends just steps away, families support one another, and people of all ages share their hobbies and traditions.
Berkeley Moshav welcomes all levels of Jewish observance from secular to religious and welcoming of people from other traditions, and they proudly welcome families of all backgrounds and LGBTQ+! It’s a place where neighbors become friends and community is built into daily life. The community is under construction, and now is the perfect time to get involved!
