Camp Be’chol Lashon Counselors
Our summer counselors are young JOCs, many of whom were campers themselves.
Maia Campbell is a third year MIT undergraduate student in Brain and Cognitive Sciences. She is passionate about anti-racist activism in context to redlining and voter suppression, medical mistrust in communities of color, and language policing in academia. In her spare time, she is an avid reader, urban adventurer, and musical theater enthusiast.
Jeremy Johnson was born and raised in San Francisco and this is his third year as CBL staff. He graduated from Drew High School in San Francisco and is currently a student at City College in San Francisco. He enjoys playing basketball, drawing, photography, and putting pineapple on pizza.
Veteran camper Claude and his sister Ella are traveling to camp from Cleveland. He is excited to come back to camp to reconnect with his friends, who are part of his Jews of Color support network.
I was born and raised in the bay area and will be a rising senior at San Domenico High School in San Anselmo, California. I love basketball, swimming, mountain biking, photography baking, cooking, and painting. In addition, I love to hang out with friends and family, travel, and go on adventures!
Ollie was born in Berkeley and grew up in Kensington. They have been part of CBL as a camper for many years, and they are really excited to join this year as a Junior Counselor. In their free time they enjoy taking part in many forms of art, including drag, painting, and more! In the fall, they will be going into their first year at Sarah Lawrence College!
Satya was born in San Francisco but was raised primarily in Brooklyn. She has been involved with Be’chol Lashon for almost 10 years as a camper, CIT and counselor. She enjoys painting, dancing and reading in her free time and is excited about spending her summer with the CBL community before starting her first year of college.
Jonah is is studying to be an EMT. He has participated in the Be’chol Lashon community since it’s inception and has been a Camp Be’chol Lashon counselor for the last few summers. His interests include soccer, basketball, fashion and travel.
Laib Zemel is a rising senior of Evanston Township Highschool in Evanston Illinois. Laib enjoys reading fiction and sci fi books, cooking, anime, swimming, traveling, and biking.
